Nathan J. Postillion is an Associate at the firm. His primary areas of practice include providing defense for construction companies, healthcare providers and nursing homes, trucking companies, and manufacturers in lawsuits alleging medical malpractice, construction site negligence, auto-tort, premises liability, and product defects. In addition, Mr. Postillion defends employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims; along with businesses of all sizes in commercial disputes. Mr. Postillion is admitted to practice before the state and federal bars of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He has experience in all phases of litigation from pre-suit through appeal, along with ADR mechanisms including mediation and arbitration. He is an active member of the James C. Cawood Jr. American Inns of Court, the Anne Arundel and Montgomery County Bar Associations, DRI, and several claims organizations.
Mr. Postillion received a degree in political science, cum laude, from the University of Arizona in 2005. He received his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2010. While at the University of Baltimore,he served as Managing Editor for the University of Baltimore Intellectual Property Law Journal, and spent several semesters as a student attorney in the school’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic representing clients in tax controversy matters.
After law school, Mr. Postillion worked for a national bank managing litigation related to RMBS and CMBS trusts, along with assuring servicer compliance with federal and state regulations. Mr. Postillion also worked at a well-respected civil litigation firm in Bethesda, Maryland, where he tried first and third-party insurance defense cases for national insurance providers. Mr. Postillion joined Gleason, Flynn, Emig & McAfee, Chartered in 2014.
